Maintenance, Operation and Control of Industrial Plants
Short course on Maintenance, Operation and Control of Industrial Plants was first launched in September 2006 from Centre for Continuing Engineering Education (CCEE) now working under the auspices of NED Academy, NED University of Engineering and Technology. This has been a very popular course, which is reflected in the fact that CCEE-NED Academy has been offering this course since 2006 quite often. With almost twelve years of successful deliverance of the course, HROs of Organizations have shown their continuous faith on NED Academy in nominating their Executives / Officers to participate in this course. With continuous updating of the course in line with recent developments in the field, we are confident that the course meets current organizational requirements and provides their nominees with an in-depth understanding and application of modern methods. This 3-day intensive course on ' Maintenance, Operation and Control of Industrial Plants' was launched once again between September 29 to 31, 2018.
In total, 29 participants of public and private sector organizations attended the course. These included Sr. Executives, Manager Operation, Maintenance Manager, Construction Manager, Engineers and the like. It was heartening to witness that private organizations showed very keen interest in the course and more than 80% of the attendees came from corporate sector. Following key organizations participated in the event: PSO, International Steel Limited, Baluchistan Wheels Limited, Bolan Mining Enterprises, Jilani Multi Pach, Pak National Refinery, etc
Dr. Abdul Rehman Abbasi was the Resource Persons for the training. Being an expert trainer he has been serving NED Academy since 2014.
Lectures, presentations, handouts, in-class exercises, experiential learning, interactive discussions, Q/A sessions and problem solving were used as learning methodologies to facilitate the participants and get the best out of the 3-day course. Networking hi-teas were used to discuss concepts and practical problems. Participants fulfilling all training requirements were declared successful. 100% success rate was achieved and all participants were able to earn Certificate of Competence.
Body of knowledge covered in the training included: Introduction to Operation & Maintenance (O&P), O&M Types and Strategies, Work Measurement, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Maintenance Engineer’s Toolbox, Air-Conditioning Equipment, Valves and pumps, Boilers, Maintenance Documentation, Computerized Maintenance, Human Error in Maintenance, Quality Control & Safety in Maintenance Reliability Calculations and Case Studies from Industrial World.
The training was unanimously evaluated as remarkable and all participants stated their maximum level of contentment with the training content as well as deliverance.
At end of the training, Certificate Award Ceremony was held where Dr. Abdul Rehman Abbasi distributed Certificates of Competence to all successful participants. The Ceremony ended with award of Shield of Honour to the esteemed trainer.
